Abby Gordon

Abby Gordon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Abby currently holds the position of Principal at Lateral Link since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Managing Director at the same company from December 2021 to January 2023. Abby began their career at Lateral Link as a Senior Director in January 2013 and held this role until December 2021. During their time at Lateral Link, Abby was responsible for creating successful recruitment strategies, establishing relationships with law firms and financial institutions, identifying core needs, sourcing and educating candidates, assessing and introducing candidates, and facilitating transitions for new hires. Abby'sprimary focus was on the New York, Boston, and European markets.

Before joining Lateral Link, Abby worked as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP from May 2004 to January 2013. Abby'srole at Cleary Gottlieb involved working on capital markets and other corporate and financial transactions. Abby drafted annual reports for clients and assisted in IPOs, security offerings, and merger and acquisition work.

Abby's earlier experiences include working as a Research Assistant for Dean T. Alexander Aleinikoff at Georgetown University Law Center, where they conducted research on UK human rights law, international law, and U.S. immigration law. Abby also volunteered as a Pro Bono Volunteer with Magistrate Judge Carol Dalton at the D.C. Superior Court, Family Court, Child Abuse and Neglect Branch.

Furthermore, Abby served as a Litigation Paralegal at Hill & Barlow, where they assisted in the impeachment investigation and trial of New Hampshire Supreme Court Chief Justice David A. Brock. Abby also handled trial preparation, wrote affidavits and memoranda, conducted witness interviews, and participated in pro bono immigration and asylum cases.

Abby's international experiences include being a Fulbright Scholar at the International Rescue Committee in Spain, where they studied refugee rights. Abby interviewed asylum-seekers, wrote reports supporting asylum claims, aided applicants for third country resettlement, and taught courses for refugees to be resettled in the United States. Additionally, they interned at the International Institute of Humanitarian Law and the Academy of European Law, where they gained valuable experience in the field.

Abby Gordon completed their Bachelor of Arts in Government/Romance Languages at Dartmouth College from 1994 to 1998. Abby then pursued further education at Georgetown University Law Center, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from 2002 to 2005.
