Carmen T Joge has a significant amount of experience in various leadership roles within nonprofit organizations focused on advancing the rights and opportunities for Latinos in the United States. Carmen T served as the Vice President of Programs & Operations at the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) from 2017, where they oversaw strategic operations and directed the organization's governance portfolio. Earlier in their career, they were the Vice President of Executive Affairs at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) from 2000 to 2017, where they played a key role in developing and implementing the organization's strategic plan and restructuring its alumni association. Prior to that, Carmen worked as a Senior Civil Rights Policy Analyst at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) from 1995 to 1999, leading policy analysis and advocacy activities. Carmen T also worked as a Staff Assistant at the Glass Ceiling Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, and at the Mayor's Office on Latino Affairs in 1994, focusing on addressing barriers affecting Hispanics and improving services for Latino residents in the District of Columbia. Carmen began their career as a Public Policy Graduate Fellow at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in 1993, where they gained knowledge in public policy and social change. Overall, Carmen has a strong background in nonprofit management, strategic planning, policy analysis, and advocacy in support of Latino communities.

Carmen T Joge earned a Bachelor's degree in History and Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they studied from 1987 to 1992. Carmen T then pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration from American University. Carmen T Joge has also obtained multiple certifications throughout their career. In 2005, they completed the certifications in Developing Leadership Talent and Talent Assessment from the Center for Creative Leadership. In 2012, they received a certification in Nonprofit Board Education from BoardSource. In 2015, they completed the Leadership Development certification from the Center for Creative Leadership. Additionally, Carmen T Joge has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including Coaching in Action for Leaders and Managers, Top 10 Rules for Highly Effective Leadership, The Definitive Drucker (getAbstract Summary), and Becoming Indistractable, in the years 2023 and 2020, respectively.
