Erika Mendez Diaz, M.Ed, is an experienced education policy professional currently serving as the Director of Early Childhood and K-12 Education Policy at the Latino Policy Forum since June 2017, following roles as Associate Director, Senior Policy Analyst, and Education Policy Analyst within the same organization. Prior experience includes serving as a Child and Family Services Specialist at Illinois Action for Children from 2015 to 2016, and as Assistant Equity Coordinator at The School District of Beloit from 2014 to 2016, where responsibilities included engaging Latino community members on equity issues and preparing board reports. Erika holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from Beloit College.

The Latino Policy Forum provides analysis with a Latino Perspective and convenes sectors of the community to engage in the policy debate and advocacy activities on issues critical to the region. Our work currently focuses on early childhood education, housing issues that address affordability, accessibility and equity, and immigration reform which supports the integration of immigrants into the social, economic, and political fabric of the U.S.
