Mariela Salas

Dr. Mariela Salas serves as the Executive Director of SomosVC since July 2022, focusing on scaling the organization, supporting Latinx professionals in venture capital, and enhancing networking opportunities for Latinx investors. In addition, Dr. Salas founded and currently leads Eleva Ventures as CEO, following a portfolio manager role at Verizon Enterprise Solutions and significant experience as CoS to VC/Analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Previous positions include Director of Research and Operations at JSK Investor Solutions, Director of Lending at New York City Financial Network Action Consortium, and Loan Consultant at ACCION USA. Dr. Salas holds an Executive Doctor of Business Administration from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, a Master's in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School, and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from Paul Quinn College.
