Steph F. has a long and varied work experience. Steph began their career in 2008 as a Preps Copy Aide at the Star Tribune. In 2010, they were a Research Assistant at Macalester College, and in 2011 they were a Research Assistant for the Transitional Justice Data Base Project. From 2009 to 2014, Steph F. worked at the Alliance for a Better Minnesota in various roles, including Deputy Director, Research Director, and Communications Associate. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Strategic Data Analyst at EMC Research Inc. In 2019, they became a Senior Market Research Coordinator and Planning Unit Supervisor at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 2021, Steph F. began working for the City of Minneapolis as a Strategic Communications Coordinator and for the Minnesota Department of Health as a Local Public Health COVID-19 Planner. Steph is currently a Research Director at Latitude+Lumiere.

Steph F. began their educational journey at Blake High School, graduating in 2007. Steph then attended Macalester College and obtained a B.A. in Political Science in 2011. In 2015, they earned a Graduate Certificate in Survey Research from the University of Connecticut. Most recently, they obtained a Professional Certificate in Data Science from Harvard University in 2022.
