John Olmsted

John Olmsted has diverse work experience in the software engineering field. John currently holds the position of Staff Software Engineer at the company Lattice since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Credit Karma from May 2015 to May 2021, starting as a Software Engineer and progressing to Senior Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer II. During their time at Credit Karma, they made significant contributions by designing and building a high-performance notification system, which tripled throughput and daily volume, reduced cost, and generated $750k of daily revenue. Before joining Credit Karma, they worked at New Avenue Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they developed core features for a project management platform and led successful A/B marketing experiments. John'searly career includes attending Dev Bootcamp as a student in 2014 and working as a Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley from August 2012 to December 2013. Prior to that, they served as a French Tutor at Carleton College from September 2006 to June 2009.

John Olmsted earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from Carleton College, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. John then pursued their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto from 2010 to 2011. Subsequently, they completed another Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in History at the University of California, Berkeley from 2011 to 2013.
