Kristaps Hahelis

Chief Legal Counsel at Latvijas Banka

Kristaps Hahelis has a strong background in legal counsel and expertise. Kristaps started their career in 2003 as a Senior Desk Officer of the Legal Division at The State Forest Service in Latvia. Kristaps then worked as a Senior Desk Officer of the Legal Department at The Treasury for five years, from 2005 to 2010. In 2010, they became a Legal Adviser at Latvijas Banka, and later transitioned to the role of Attorney at Law at Law Office FORT in 2012. Kristaps returned to Latvijas Banka in 2015 as a Senior Expert at The Treasury before becoming the Chief Legal Counsel in 2019.

Kristaps Hahelis obtained their Bachelor's degree in Law from Latvijas Universitate, where they studied from 1997 to 2002. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Law with a focus on Administrative and Constitutional Law at the same university, completing it in 2003.
