Melissa Schmidt

Melissa Schmidt has accumulated a wealth of experience in the Life Sciences industry. Melissa began their career in 2000 as a Research Associate I at BD Biosciences. Melissa then moved on to Biogen Idec in 2002 as a Research Associate III, and in 2007 they joined GE Healthcare as a Field Application Specialist. In 2009, they became an IT Consultant/Account Manager at Electronic Systems Inc., where they specialized in providing efficient and secure IT solutions to the financial industry. In 2018, they joined LaunchBio Inc. as the National Program Director, and later became the Director of Development and Program Manager. In their role as Program Manager, they developed and enhanced programs to serve the San Diego entrepreneurial Life Sciences community, and provided educational workshops to inspire young scientific minds.

Melissa Schmidt obtained their MBA from the University of San Diego between 2004 and 2006, with a field of study in business. Melissa also obtained their Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder between 1996 and 2000, with a field of study in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.
