Rebecca Beattie has a long and varied work experience in the life sciences and biotechnology industries. Rebecca began their career in 2002 as a Clinical Sales Representative/National Channel Sales Manager for SeraCare Life Sciences in Oceanside, California. In 2004, they took on the role of Cell Biology Specialist at Eppendorf North America, where they managed a 12-state territory and 8 distribution channels for the sales and technical support of the Eppendorf West Coast Cell Technology Division. Rebecca also initiated and carried out market research projects and developed and implemented a “Stem Cell Micromanipulation” seminar series for the University of California system.
In 2009, Beattie joined the Comprendia Bioscience Consulting Group as a Partner, where they identified and secured new accounts. Rebecca also co-managed SDBN in the same year. In 2012, they took on the role of Director of Marketing at Real Office Centers.
Beattie joined LaunchBio Inc. in 2017 as the Chief Executive Officer. Rebecca was also an Acting Chief Executive Officer and National Program Director, where they hosted a series of educational “lunch & learn” programs, led the expansion of programs to San Francisco and Los Angeles, created the popular Explore Labs STEM education program for high school students in the San Diego Unified School District, and directed LaunchBio’s move online as Director of National Programs.
In 2016, Beattie was the VP of Marketing & Strategy at BioLabs - San Diego, where they oversaw the strategy and implementation of marketing and partnership initiatives.
Rebecca Beattie received a BS & BA from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2001, with a major in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and a minor in Business Administration with an emphasis on marketing. Prior to this, they attended Leland.
