John Kodumal

John Kodumal is the CTO and co-founder of LaunchDarkly. John has over 15 years of experience in software development and management.

John began their career as an intern at HRL Laboratories in 1999. John then spent three years as an architect for Coverity, where they helped develop static analysis tools for code review and defect prevention. In 2009, John joined Atlassian as a software development manager. John spent five years at Atlassian, during which time they oversaw the engineering team for the Atlassian Marketplace.

Since 2014, John has been with LaunchDarkly, where they have helped the company grow from a startup to a leader in the application launch management space. In their role as CTO, John is responsible for overseeing all of LaunchDarkly's engineering efforts. John is also a core contributor to LaunchDarkly's open source projects, including the LaunchDarkly SDK for Java.

John Kodumal received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College.

Their manager is Edith Harbaugh, CEO & Co-Founder. They are on a team with Laurie Maclachlan - VP & GM, EMEA, Keith Messick - SVP, Marketing, and Jeremy Smith - Chief Revenue Officer.
