Sam Stokes is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in building and scaling distributed data systems. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at LaunchDarkly since March 2019, Sam leads teams in developing customer-facing experimentation and observability products while coaching engineers and advising on technical strategy. Prior to this, Sam worked as a Software Consultant focusing on data engineering and scalability, and held positions at Honeycomb.io, LinkedIn, Rapportive, Rectangle Software, mo.jo, Bloomberg, and Symbian Ltd. Sam co-founded Rapportive and contributed significantly to various projects, including a custom-built columnar storage engine and Kafka change data capture solutions. Education includes a BA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and participation in Y Combinator.
