Tarja Kantola is a Principal Lecturer and Ph.D. at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Porvoo, responsible for research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities and projects, including the Hope@Act initiative aimed at supporting the self-employed and micro-entrepreneurs during the Coronavirus crisis. Previously, Tarja served as a Lecturer and Project Manager at HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences from August 2003 to May 2011, and as a Researcher at the University of Helsinki's Center for Activity Theory and Developmental Work Research from December 1996 to December 2001. Tarja holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Helsinki, a Teacher's pedagogical qualification from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, and a Master of Education degree from the University of Tampere.
