Sonia Maciá

Sonia Maciá has been working in the medical field since 2003. Sonia started their residency in Medical Oncology at Hospital General Universitario, Elche-Spain in 2003 and graduated as a Medical Oncologist in 2007. Sonia was then dedicated to clinical work with all sorts of cancer patients with special emphasis on major tumour types at Hospital de Elda from July 2007 to July 2012. In 2006, they became a member of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM) and also a member of many Spanish Cooperative Groups such as GECP, GIDO, GEICO and SOGUG. In 2020, Sonia began working as a Medical Director Oncology at ICON plc and a Medical Director at Highlight Therapeutics SL. Currently, they are the Executive Medical Director at LAVA Therapeutics N.V.

Sonia Maciá has a long education history beginning with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, obtained in 2002. In 2010, they obtained a Posgrado Oncología Médica SEOM from the Sociedad Española de Oncología Médica. In 2016, they obtained a PhD, Doctor en Medicina from Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, in the field of Clinical Medicine. In 2018, they obtained a Universitary master in Pharmacoeconomy from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in the field of Pharmacoeconomy. Sonia is also an ESMO certified Medical Oncologist. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive MBA from EAE Business School, in the field of Business administration.
