Sharon Berezin Alves

Sharon Berezin Alves has a diverse range of work experience. Sharon has worked as a Laboratory Research Assistant at Lavie Bio, where they were responsible for conducting experiments and coordinating and training students. Sharon also worked as a Student Laboratory Assistant at the same company, performing tasks in a sterile microbiology lab and conducting PCR tests.

Prior to Lavie Bio, Sharon worked as a Research Assistant at the Azrieli College of Engineering Jerusalem, where they conducted experiments related to microbiology and water and wastewater treatments. Sharon also worked as an Agronomist at StartUpRoots, where they oversaw hydroponic farming projects and collected data on leafy greens and microgreens.

Sharon has also gained experience as a Quality Assurance Intern at SynTech Research, where they evaluated chemical products for regulatory approval in the pesticide market. Sharon conducted audits, both in the field and office, to ensure compliance with regulations. Additionally, they have worked as an intern at the Biosystems Engineering Laboratory, evaluating medicinal plant experiments and presenting their findings at a scientific research event.

Furthermore, Sharon has worked as a Crew Member for the Group of Extension in Sao Pedro, conducting technical visits to agricultural properties and providing guidance on management techniques for irrigation and pasture. Sharon also worked as an Intern in the Plant Production department, assisting with research on plant pathogens and conducting inoculations and evaluations.

Lastly, Sharon worked as a Crew Member in the Group of Fruit Growing, where they participated in activities related to orchard management, including seedling production, pruning, irrigation, and fruit classification.

Sharon Berezin Alves completed their Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, General at USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2013 to 2017. In 2016, they obtained a certification in "Protected crop: how to generate income with the production of high-quality vegetables" from Fealq - Fundacao Estudos Agrarios De Luiz Queiroz. In the following year, Sharon also obtained certifications in "II Training of Excel" from the same institution and in the "25th International Symposium of Scientific and Technological Initiation of University of Sao Paulo" from Universidade de São Paulo.

Currently, Sharon is pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Economics and Management at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, starting from 2022.
