J. Wayne Roquemore

President at Lawler-Wood

In his capacity as president of LawlerWood, Wayne Roquemore has responsibility over real estate development and property management. He received an undergraduate degree from Auburn University and a graduate degree from the University of Alabama’s school of business. Before joining LawlerWood in 1992, he served as president of SHELCO, Inc., a commercial general contractor headquartered in Winston-Salem, NC.

Mr. Roquemore served in the United States Air Force for six years, attaining the rank of captain. He was a vice president of Wachovia Bank & Trust Company and was responsible for commercial real estate lending and loan policy. He was also president of the hotel division of Turnpike Properties, Inc., where he was responsible for the development and operation of limited- and full- service hotels. He has been actively involved in many civic and community activities, including Hospice, Rotary and United Way, and he serves on the board of directors for The Trust Company of Knoxville.
