Lawndale Elementary School District
Kristen Gaffney currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at Education Interventions since September 2018 and has also been an Independent Studies Teacher for grades 3-5 at Lawndale Elementary School District since August 2019. Prior positions include K-5 Science Specialist at PUC Schools and Literacy Specialist/Instructional Coach at Rowan-Salisbury Schools. Kristen began a teaching career at Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools, instructing various subjects for grades 4-6 from August 2012 to 2017. Kristen holds a Master's degree in School Administration from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Lawndale Elementary School District
The Lawndale Elementary School District was established in 1906 with one teacher and 20 students. Since then, the District has blossomed to more than 4,700 students and more than 800 teachers and staff. Lawndale Elementary School District serves students from preschool through grade eight. There are now eight schools in the District. Six elementary schools serve Kindergarten through 5th grade: William Anderson, William Green, Billy Mitchell, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lucille J. Smith, and Mark Twain. Jane Addams Middle School and Will Rogers Middle School serve students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
