Shelby Ostrom

Shelby Ostrom, MPA, is currently a Health Equity Policy Analyst at Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health, a position held since January 2024. Previously, Shelby served in various leadership roles at the Kansas Association of Local Health Departments, including Assistant Director and Interim Executive Director, from October 2021 to December 2023. Additional experience includes the role of Director of Community Initiatives at Nurture KC (September 2020 - September 2021) and Manager of Public Policy & Government Relations at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (June 2019 - September 2020). Shelby’s earlier positions include Manager of Individual Giving at United Way of Greater Kansas City and Membership Director at Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Public Policy from The University of Kansas (2021-2024) and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health Policy, Practice, and Management from the University of Kansas Medical Center (2022-2023), along with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Business, and Pre-Law from The University of Kansas (2013-2016).
