Ashish Walia

Co-Founder at Lawtrades

Ashish Walia co-founded Lawtrades in 2015, a platform connecting legal departments with independent legal talent. Ashish provided access to top-tier companies for legal professionals and promoted the transition of legal work away from traditional big firms. In 2021, Ashish became an Entrepreneur in Residence at 500 Startups. Prior to this, they served as a Law Clerk to the honorable claims commissioner at the Office of the Claims Commissioner for the State of Connecticut in 2013.

Ashish Walia earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from St. John's University in 2012. Ashish then went on to pursue a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, completing their degree in 2015. Previously, they attended Crosby High School from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they participated in the 500 Startups Accelerator program, specifically the Batch 15 cohort, from 2015 to 2016.
