Barry Jacobs

Barry Jacobs has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Barry currently holds the role of Vice President of Software Engineering at Laxton Group, where they lead software development initiatives. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Technical Manager at WorldAware, managing multiple full-stack teams and setting global software development standards. From 2017 to 2018, Barry was a Technical Manager at iJET International, responsible for managing the development team and technical strategy. Before that, from 2010 to 2017, they worked in various roles at Bytes Systems Integration, including Software Development Manager and Solutions Architect, specializing in biometric frameworks and identity management solutions. Barry also had entrepreneurial experiences, owning and operating their own businesses, NE14 Solutions and Coral Stone Solutions Ltd, where they developed solutions and provided consultation services. Earlier in their career, they worked as a .Net Developer at Anglo American. Through their roles, Barry has demonstrated expertise in software development, team management, technical strategy, and solution architecture.

Barry Jacobs attended Hoerskool Linden from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained their Matric. Later, from 1999 to 2005, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology at the University of Johannesburg. In June 2012, they earned the certification of IEEE Certified Biometric Professional from the IEEE institution.
