Zen Yui

Zen Yui is the founder and CEO of Layer 9 Networks, where they lead fiber and fixed wireless networks at scale. They previously served as Manager, Engineering at Namely (2018–2021), overseeing two backend teams: data engineering (Spark/Scala/Kafka/Akka) and event-sourced backend services (gRPC/GraphQL/Golang). Earlier, they were Lead Software Engineer at Eataly (2015–2017) and also worked as a Data Engineer, supporting USA operations and e-commerce with near-real-time, event-driven data pipelines and managing hybrid cloud infrastructure on GCP. They mentored founders at Techstars (2020–2024) and co-founded Troop as CTO (2021–2024). They are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business and Hospitality Management at Cornell University, a Master of Engineering in Computer Science at Cornell University Graduate School, and a Data Science program at General Assembly.
