J. Michael Anderson

CEO at Layne Water Midstream

Michael Anderson leads and directs the Layne Water Midstream business strategy and development, overseeing the company’s growth. Prior to founding Layne Water Midstream in 2016, Michael served during the past two decades in executive leadership positions for energy, water and infrastructure companies. Michael served most recently as Chief Financial Officer at Layne Christensen, a 140-year old water and infrastructure company, until its 2018 merger with Granite Construction. Previously, Michael served as Chief Financial Officer at Southcross Energy Partners, a Master Limited Partnership engaged in the natural gas midstream business. He also previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Exterran Holdings, Inc. and Exterran Partners, L.P., a global market leader in natural gas compression and oil and gas services. Michael also served as Chief Financial Officer, later becoming Chief Executive Officer, at Azurix Corp., a global owner and operator of water and wastewater assets. Michael began his career with JPMorgan Chase as an investment banker after earning his undergraduate degree in business from Texas Tech University and his M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
