Eric Van Nostrand

Eric Van Nostrand is the Global Head of Markets and Chief Economist at Lazard, a position they have held since 2025. Previously, they served as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy (p.d.o.) at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and held roles including Senior Advisor for Russia/Ukraine and Acting Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy. Earlier in their career, Eric was a US Interest Rate Strategist at Credit Suisse and a Special Assistant to the Chairman and Staff Economist at the Council of Economic Advisers in the White House. They earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Yale Law School and hold dual degrees in Economics and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
