Paul Ackerman is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in IT operations and information security. Currently serving as Chair of the Cybersecurity Sub-Committee of the IT Working Group for the Association of Large Distribution Cooperatives, Paul has also held the position of Manager of IT Operations and Information Security Officer at LCEC since January 2013. As President and Principal Security Engineer at VacciNet, LLC, Paul focuses on enhancing network security through consulting services, emphasizing knowledge transfer and staff training. Paul has a solid background in the judicial sector, having progressed from PC Support Specialist to Computer Network Supervisor for the 20th Judicial Circuit in Florida. Educational achievements include a Master of Information Security Engineering from SANS Technology Institute, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Florida State University, and an Associate degree from Edison State College. Paul holds certifications as a Global Security Expert (GSE) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

We serve customers throughout five counties in pristine, beautiful Southwest Florida. LCEC was formed in 1940 to serve areas no other utility wanted to serve. Today the membership has grown to nearly 200,000 and includes cities such as Cape Coral, Marco Island, Sanibel-Captiva and Everglades City along with areas such as North Fort Myers, Immokalee, Ave Maria and parts of Lehigh Acres. Employees are committed to serving the community through volunteerism and philanthropic endeavors.
