Dr. Robin McGoey has extensive work experience in the healthcare field. They began their career in 1995 as a Genetics Counselor at Ochsner Health. In 2000, they worked as a Pediatrics Intern at Children's Hospital New Orleans. From 2001 to 2017, Dr. McGoey held multiple roles at LSU Health Sciences Center, including Pathology Resident and Physician-Pathologist, Residency Program Director. They then served as the Chief Academic Officer at University Medical Center New Orleans from 2018 to 2020. Currently, Dr. McGoey holds the position of Chief Academic Officer at LCMC Health, starting in 2020.
Dr. Robin McGoey obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology, with a specialization in General Biology, from the University of Virginia. Dr. Robin attended the university from 1989 to 1993. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Genetic Counseling/Counselor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) from 1993 to 1995. Dr. McGoey furthered their education by earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where they studied from 1996 to 2000.
