Dan Yates

Dan Yates, PE, is a seasoned professional in civil engineering with extensive experience in river operations and dam safety. Currently serving as the Director of River Operations at LCRA since August 2019, Dan has previously held multiple roles at the organization, including Supervisor of the River Operations Center and Senior Engineer. Prior to this, Dan worked as an Engineer in the Dam Safety Section of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Dan's career also includes ownership of LoudMouth Rentals and serving as a Senior Project Manager at Halff Associates. Dan initiated professional engineering efforts at LCRA in 2002, contributing as a Supervisor, Engineer, and Engineering Associate until 2014. Musical endeavors include playing guitar with Monte Warden from 1995 to 1997 and with Jimmie Dale Gilmore from 1993 to 1995. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin between 1998 and 2001.
