Fondateur CEO at Le Comptoir de Mathilde

Richard Fournier is the founder and CEO of Le Comptoir de Mathilde, a gourmet grocery store and chocolate shop. Richard started the company in 2004 and established a manufacturing team of over 120 people in 2007. The company has a network of 109 stores, including 12 owned by Le Comptoir de Mathilde and the remainder as franchises. They also distribute their products to over 2000 clients in France. Prior to starting Le Comptoir de Mathilde, Richard Fournier owned a small fine grocery store called Le Comptoir de Sud from 2002 to 2007. Richard also served as the president of Plantes et Parfums de Provence from 2001 to 2007 and the president of Terres et Parfums de Provence Guatemala from 1998 to 2003. In the latter company, they focused on creating scented and cosmetic products using terracotta and developed a fragranced and colored pumice stone called "Terre a savon" sold to Avon in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Richard Fournier's education history begins in 1987 when they attended Lycée Tezenas du Montcel in Saint Etienne, France. Richard completed a BEP in Compta Gestion in 1989. Following this, in 1991, Richard attended Tezenas du Montcel Saint Etienne and obtained a Bac Compta Gestion (G2) degree with a focus on Compta/Gestion. Lastly, in 2015, they briefly attended Chambre des Métiers et de l'artisanat de la Drome and earned a CAP in chocolatier.
