Mounir Rached has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Mounir began their career in 1971 as an Economist at the United Nations, where they worked until 1975. Mounir then joined the Arab Monetary Fund as an Economist from 1981 to 1983. Following this, they joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1983 as a Senior Economist and remained in various roles until 2007. From 2002 to 2005, they served as the IMF resident representative. In 2013, Rached took on a role as the World Bank International Fiscal Advisor at the Ministry of Finance of Lebanon until 2019. Mounir also served as a Lecturer at the American University of Beirut starting in 2013. Most recently, in 2020, they became a pension expert at WYG Group. Rached also holds notable positions within the Lebanese Economic Association, including President since 2016 and previously as Vice President since 2007.
Mounir Rached completed their education in the field of Economics. From 1975 to 1981, they attended the University of Arizona, where they pursued a Ph.D. in Economics. Additionally, they also studied at The University of Arizona, earning another Ph.D. in Economic, although the exact start and end years of this program are unknown.
