Eram Abbasi is currently a LTSS Public Policy Analyst at LeadingAge. Prior to this, they were with Support Development Associates, and before that, they were the Long Term Services Division Manager at the Maryland Department of Aging from January 2018 to September 2018. Abbasi was also the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Manager at the Maryland Department of Aging from July 2013 to December 2017. In this role, they provided leadership, oversight, technical assistance and monitoring of Maryland’s Aging and Disability’s Resource Centers (ADRCs). Abbasi also developed, implemented, and oversaw an annual monitoring program for local ADRC sites, led and scheduled meetings with executive staff to review findings and amend policy documents, facilitated monthly brown bag webinars for staff and partner agencies, monitored the Federal Financial Participation (FFP), Federal government reimbursing the MAP staff for Medicaid related work, oversaw and monitored Medicaid related activities under Federal Financial Participation (FFP), analyzed data submitted by local sites and identified gaps, conducted internal review and assessment of a number of documents on specific aspects of the Aging and Disability Resource Center for efficacy, provided training to staff on different Medicaid and Medicare Issues, monitored grant funds and their deliverables, assisted in developing and implement new policies and organizational changes to assure the integration of the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) in the Department and in Maryland’s overall rebalancing efforts which includes participating in internal planning and inter-departmental and agency groups and working with the disability provider networks, assisted in expanding and maintaining outreach and marketing efforts to educate the public and agencies about the Aging and Disability Resource Center, was the second point of person for Emergency Management for the Department of Aging, and was stationed at the MEMA headquarters during emergencies.

Eram Abbasi has a Masters in Management in Aging Services from the University of Maryland Baltimore County- The Erickson School, a Bachelors in Health Adminstration and Policy Program from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and an Associate of Arts - AA from The Community College of Baltimore County. Eram also has certification from The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices, Inc. as a Certified Person Centered Thinking Trainer and from the Maryland Department of Aging as a Certified Options Counselor.
