Jon Spangler

League Cycling Instructor #3175 at League of American Bicyclists

Jon Spangler is an experienced professional with extensive leadership and advocacy roles in the fields of cycling and writing. Currently serving as Chair of the BART Bicycle Advisory Task Force since August 2011, Jon also operates as a Writer-Editor and partner at Linda Hudson Writing, providing comprehensive writing and editing services for high-tech and nonprofit sectors. As a certified League Cycling Instructor, Jon educates cyclists on safety and skills to navigate roadways effectively. In addition to these roles, Jon has contributed as a volunteer, activist, and advocate in various transportation initiatives with the City of Alameda, helping to develop and refine bicycle and transit master plans. A member of the Open Opera Advisory Board and former member of the City of Alameda Transportation Commission, Jon has also facilitated cycling education for school teachers through Youth Educational Sports, Inc. Jon holds a BA in General Social Science from the University of Oregon.
