Ralph Sturgen

League Cycling Instructor (lci# 1307) at League of American Bicyclists

Ralph Sturgen is an experienced professional with a diverse background spanning several decades. Since February 2012, Ralph has served as an ESL tutor at Jones Library, assisting native speakers of other languages in English. Concurrently, Ralph has been a League Cycling Instructor for the League of American Bicyclists since 2005, focusing on teaching defensive driving skills to adult bicyclists through various formats. Previously, Ralph worked at Beckman Coulter from 1984 to 2011, holding roles such as Sr. Field Service Engineer and Product Coordinator, where responsibilities included customer support and equipment maintenance in compliance with FDA and ISO standards. Earlier experience includes serving as Laboratory Manager at Pocono Medical Center and various laboratory positions in the US Army, where Ralph was trained as a medical laboratory technician. Ralph holds an MA in Biochemistry from The University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine, and a BA in Chemistry from Yankton College.
