Jan Arbuckle

Jan Arbuckle serves as the Mayor of Grass Valley since December 2022, with a long-standing commitment to public service beginning in March 2007 as a City Council Member. Arbuckle holds multiple leadership roles, including Chairperson of the Small Cities Council and President of Women in Municipal Government with the National League of Cities. Additionally, Arbuckle is the President of the Sacramento Valley Division with the League of California Cities. Past experiences include serving as Vice Mayor and holding the position of President in various capacities within the League of California Cities. Prior to a career in municipal government, Arbuckle worked for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department for over three decades, ultimately serving as Peer Support Coordinator and Deputy Sheriff. Educational background includes attendance at Pioneer High School and Rio Hondo College.
