League of Women Voters
Rommel Sandino currently serves as the National Organizing Director for the League of Women Voters, leading a team to empower over 700 local Leagues on issues related to voting rights and social justice. Previously, Rommel was the National Senior Organizing Manager, focusing on voter protections and advocacy for marginalized communities. As a Councilmember for Ward 5 in the City of Hyattsville, efforts are directed towards systemic change for diverse residents. Formerly, Rommel held significant roles with Community Change, including Senior Organizer and Northeast Regional Field Organizer, where strategies centered on immigration and grassroots power were developed. Additionally, Rommel served CASA as a Lead Organizer and Youth Organizer, building community leadership and conducting campaigns for social equity. Educational background includes studies at the University of Maryland and Montgomery College, culminating in a high school diploma from Montgomery Blair High School.
