Darcie Goodman Collins, PhD has a wide range of work experience in environmental conservation and management. Darcie is currently the CEO of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, a position they have held since May 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director of the organization starting in January 2012. From 2009 to 2012, Darcie was a board member for the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

In addition to their work with the League to Save Lake Tahoe, Darcie has held various roles in other environmental organizations. Darcie was the Board Chair for the Tahoe Baikal Institute in 2008. From 2008 to 2012, they served as the Habitat Restoration Director for Save the Bay, where they developed and managed strategies for community engagement, cultivated donors and partners, and oversaw a $1 million restoration program budget.

Darcie founded the Devereux Slough Monitoring Program in 2002 and served as its founder until 2008. In this role, they created monitoring protocols, secured funding, and managed organizational strategies to support conservation efforts.

Prior to founding the Devereux Slough Monitoring Program, Darcie worked as a Project Manager and Research Assistant for the Snowy Plover Management Project at the Coal Oil Point Reserve from 1998 to 2008. Their responsibilities included designing restoration projects and monitoring the effects of human disturbance on the snowy plover population.

Darcie also has experience in leadership and fundraising roles. Darcie was the Executive Director of Shorelines and Watersheds in 2007-2008, where they led board meetings and fundraising efforts. Additionally, they served as a teaching assistant and PhD student at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at UC Santa Barbara from 2002 to 2008.

Early in their career, Darcie gained experience as an intern at The Environmental Defense Center in 2000 and as an Environmental Legislative intern for Senator Barbara Boxer in 2000.

Simultaneously, they also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara.

Following their undergraduate studies, Darcie went on to pursue a PhD at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. From 2002 to 2008, they dedicated herself to studying Estuarine Management and Restoration, which culminated in the successful completion of their doctoral degree.
