Christopher Canady

Christopher Canady is an experienced professional in mental health and community support, currently serving as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Organization For Recovery since September 2023 and as a Mental Health Specialist at THE LEAGUERS, INC. since September 2019. As a co-owner of Blvcklxrds, an urban fashion label based in Newark, NJ, Christopher aims to empower individuals through a brand that challenges societal stereotypes of people of color. Additional roles include Assistant Basketball Coach, Reading Coordinator, and Grade Level Liaison at People's Preparatory Charter School, along with experience as a Direct Support Provider at The Family Resource Network. Christopher previously worked as a Family Service Specialist for the Department of Children and Families and held various positions in mental health support and education. Academically, Christopher holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from New Jersey City University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Becker College.
