Xuesong (Pine) Liu, Ph.D., FMP has a wealth of experience in the fields of artificial intelligence, information visualization, and facilities management. Starting in 2009, they were a Research Assistant Professor, Asset Preservation Manager, Adjunct Faculty, and Ph.D. and Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2015, they co-founded LeanFM Technologies, a software company that utilizes artificial intelligence and information visualization to support sustainable and efficient building/facilities management. As Co-Founder and CTO, they led the R&D of the LeanFM platform, with novel, patented building information integration, visualization and analytics technologies. Additionally, they were Co-Founder & CEO and lead an NSF SBIR funded research project on big data analytics for predictive facilities management.

Xuesong (Pine) Liu, Ph.D., FMP has an extensive education history. Xuesong (Pine) obtained their B.E. in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2007. Xuesong (Pine) then went on to pursue two M.S. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008 and 2009, in Information Technology in Software Engineering and Civil Engineering respectively. Finally, they obtained their Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. In addition, they obtained their IFMA FMP certification from IFMA in June 2014.
