Alwyn Chong is currently the director at LEAP Commerce. Prior to this, they were with Luxasia, Lazada (Alibaba Group), and Rocket Internet GmbH.
Chong was with Lazada from January 2014 to January 2017, where they were head of marketplace performance. In this role, they were responsible for the marketplace sellers' performance on Lazada, managing 30% of the business revenue and 80% of the marketplace sellers on the platform. Alwyn also built marketplace automation & data solutions to drive long-tail seller performance in a scalable way.
During their time at Lazada, Chong led the cross-border growth strategy for Singapore, growing the cross-border business by over 40% month-on-month.
Before Lazada, Chong was with Rocket Internet GmbH from July 2013 to December 2013 as a business development manager. Alwyn was part of the founding team that launched Lazada in Singapore. Her responsibilities included making the business plan and market-entry strategy, defining the legal setup, evaluating and selecting the logistic partners, and setting up the operations team and processes.
Alwyn Chong graduated with a Master of Science in Finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prior to that, they completed a Bachelors in Business Studies with a focus in finance from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University. Alwyn also has two professional certifications - one from LinkedIn in Google Universal Analytics Essential Training (2020), and the other in Social Media Marketing Foundations.
