Maria Fabian

Maria Fabian, MPA, currently serves as a Senior Employment Counselor at LEAP since January 2023. Prior to this role, Maria gained experience as a Teacher Assistant at Maple Leaf Childcare Center Inc. from May 2022 to January 2023 and as a Cyber Security Analyst Intern at the New York State Department of Education from August 2021 to January 2022, where responsibilities included researching disaster recovery programs and developing security policies. Maria also worked as a Lead Teacher at Maple Leaf Childcare Center Inc. from September 2020 to August 2021, an Intern at the SUNY Center for International Development in early 2020, and served as a Legislative Aide for NYS Assembly members from January to June 2019. Additionally, Maria interned with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants in 2017, focusing on cultural orientation for refugees. Maria holds a Master of Public Administration in Information Technology and Education Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Management from the University at Albany.

LEAP is a non-profit community action agency that serves all of Washington County. Located in Fort Edward, New York, we have been aiding individuals and families in defining and reaching their goals economically, educationally, and more for over 50 years. Our organization believes that supporting individuals and families in attaining self-sufficiency is best done through building relationships and community networks. Our services include Head Start / Early Head Start Programs for children 0-5 and pregnant individuals, Employment Counseling for youth and adults, an Emergency Food Pantry, Transportation for senior citizens and adults with disabilities, a Community Garden, and Emergency Assistance.
