Fernanda is a key leader in LeapFrog’s Asia financial services team, responsible for originating investments and driving value and growth across the firm’s portfolio. She has accumulated hands-on experience in turning around and growing inclusive finance banks and institutions across Asia. Her influence and role in governance was featured in an Emerging Market Private Equity Association (EMPEA) case study.
She accumulates 18+ years of experience with private equity and financial institutions. Since 2008, Fernanda has focused on Asia private equity investment and active management of fast growing and evolving financial institutions.
Fernanda joined LeapFrog from Developing World Markets, one of the largest impact asset managers in inclusive finance globally, where she was Managing Director. She invested and managed the equity portfolio for two funds with portfolio companies in Cambodia, China, Indonesia and Sri Lanka and held Board seats and leadership roles managing diverse teams, Boards and senior staff.
Earlier, Fernanda worked for AIG Global Investment Group in London, where she conducted equity transactions in Scandinavia and Eastern and Southern Europe and was a member of a task force responsible for preparing their environmental investment strategy for Europe. Previously, she was with AFLA/CVC in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Fernanda started her career with Brazil-based Unibanco/ITAU, currently the largest financial conglomerate in the southern hemisphere.
Fernanda holds a Master of Science in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and a Master in Business Administration from the University of London and Imperial College. She was a British Chevening Scholar (funded by UK’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office) and speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish.
