Frances Kleven

Senior Director, Customer Experience at LearnUpon

Frances Kleven has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Frances most recently worked at LearnUpon as the Director of Enterprise Customer Success, where they joined in April 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Manager of Customer Success at LearnUpon from August 2018 to April 2021.

Before joining LearnUpon, Kleven worked at Coursera as the Manager of Strategic University Partnerships from September 2014 to November 2016. In this role, they managed a partnerships team responsible for Coursera's most strategic university partnerships, overseeing content sourcing, portfolio growth, and account health.

Kleven also worked at UCSF, where they held the positions of Director of the Office of Education and Instruction from March 2012 to September 2014, and Education Analyst from November 2011 to March 2012.

At Presidio Graduate School, Kleven served as the Manager of Student Affairs and Career Development, responsible for managing the school's business partner network for employment and internship opportunities. Frances provided career management services for MBA and MPA students from 2009 to 2011.

Additionally, Kleven worked at San Francisco State University in various roles. Frances was an Adjunct Faculty for English Composition and Rhetoric from June 2003 to January 2009. Frances also held the position of Director of First-Year Experience/Summer Bridge from June 2000 to July 2008, where they managed an academic and admissions program for first-generation college students, overseeing recruitment and retention efforts, academic curriculum, and career development programming.

Lastly, Kleven worked at the San Francisco Unified School District as a Curriculum Consultant for AP English from 2003 to 2007. In this role, they developed department-wide curriculum based on Advanced Placement (AP) standards and rubrics, and facilitated AP workshops for students, parents, and instructors.

Frances Kleven has a diverse education history. Frances earned their A.A. degree in Spanish from Butte-Glenn Community College from 1997 to 2000. In 1999, they studied Spanish Language and Literature at the Centro Panamericano de Idiomas for a year. Frances then continued their education at San Francisco State University, where they obtained a B.A. in English Literature from 2000 to 2002. Frances later pursued an M.A. in English Literature from 2002 to 2006 at the same university. Frances also completed additional certifications, such as a Certificate in Teaching Composition from San Francisco State University (2003-2004) and a Certificate in Teaching Reading (M.A.) from 2004 to 2005. Recently, they obtained a certification in Baseball 101 from LearnUpon in August 2022.
