Samuel Lapp

Field Researcher at Leave No Trace

Samuel Lapp is an experienced professional with a background in research, development, and technology integration. Currently serving as a Field Researcher at the Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics since June 2019, Lapp also contributes as an Agent Based Modeling Researcher at THRED Lab at Penn State University, where models are developed to simulate team problem-solving and cognitive styles. As a Virtual Reality Developer at OPEN Design Lab since August 2014, Lapp focuses on integrating Oculus Rift technology with remote driving systems and creating virtual driving environments. Previous roles include Machine Learning Developer at CHOT, where modified Hidden Markov Models were developed, and an Internet of Things Project Intern at Wipro Technologies, where data parsing tools were created. Lapp holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Penn State University, earned in 2017.
