David Heckman has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. David started their career in 1972, working for the New York Air National Guard for 36 years, where they held various positions such as Weapons Loader, QA, Safety, Maintenance Superintendent, Operations Superintendent, Air Field Management, and Command Chief. During this time, they participated in multiple deployments, including combat zones.

David Heckman's education history includes attending the Community College of the Air Force from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Occupational Safety and Health Technology/Technician.
