Sylvain Chonavel

Sylvain Chonavel is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the VP of System Engineering and Chief Engineer for transportation batteries at Leclanché SA since August 2018, focusing on the development of battery solutions for various applications, including eBuses, eTrucks, rail traction, and military vehicles. Prior to this role, Sylvain was the Projects Director at Frazer-Nash Research Limited, managing the design and development of a serial hybrid electric vehicle drive-line. Previous positions include Engineering Director at Whitfield Solar Ltd., Engineering Manager at Meritor (Inteva), and Stealth Activity Manager at Giat Industries (Nexter). Sylvain holds a degree in Engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, and has additional training as a self-driving car engineer from Udacity.
