Joel Stone

Joel Stone has extensive experience in the bioeconomy and industrial biotechnology industries. Joel currently serves as President of ConVergInce Advisers, where they offer strategic planning and business development assistance to technology start-ups in the bioeconomy. Joel is also the Executive Director of Climate Systems Solutions, working with stakeholders to implement climate solutions in business operations. Previously, Joel was a Project Director at Lee Enterprises Consulting, where they led bioeconomy consulting projects. Joel also served as a Board Member at Fermentum, a biotechnology development and manufacturing company. Earlier in their career, Joel held leadership positions at Green Biologics Ltd., Central MN Renewables LLC, butylfuel LLC, Osage Bio Energy, ASAlliances Biofuels, LLC, and ABENGOA BIOENERGY CORP., where they played pivotal roles in commercializing bio-based technologies and developing bioenergy plants.

Joel Stone completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech, where they studied from 1970 to 1975. Joel then pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, which they completed in the year 1976.
