James Kent

James Kent is an accomplished professional in information security and operational risk management with extensive experience in both leadership and specialized roles. Currently serving as the Head of Information Security and Operational Risk at Leeds Building Society since December 2013, James oversees critical areas such as change management, third-party management, and operational resilience. Previous positions include a six-month secondment as Head of Information Security, where James worked directly with the COO to enhance operational resilience, and Group Head of Information Risk Management at CPP Group plc, where a data-centric security strategy was developed across 15 countries. Earlier career highlights include an Executive Advisor role at KPMG, focusing on risk assessments, and initial experience as an IT admin and teacher at Kawakami Town Hall. James holds a Master’s degree in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Newcastle University.
