Billy Carver currently serves as the Dean of Natural and Behavioral Sciences at Lees-McRae College, a position held since 2013, where responsibilities include overseeing various programs in both natural and social sciences, managing staffing for courses, and collaborating on instructional assessments. Previously, as an Assistant Professor and laboratory coordinator in the biology program, Billy Carver introduced significant curriculum changes to enhance the program's focus on mechanistic analysis. Additionally, Billy Carver has maintained involvement in fungal research as a Research Associate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, since completing doctoral studies. Billy Carver earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University and a BS in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
