Roman Berenstein has a diverse work experience spanning over various industries and roles. Roman co-founded Lefty in 2015, where they focused on product and engineering. Lefty is an influencer marketing platform that was acquired by The Independents group in 2021. In 2013, Berenstein co-founded WayWay. Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked as a Research & Risk Management professional at Antares Technologies SAS from 2011 to 2013, where they specialized in risk management strategies and fund allocation. Before that, Berenstein worked at BlueCrest Capital Management as a Quantitative Analyst, evaluating government interest rate curves and developing fixed-income trading strategies. Roman also gained experience as an Algorithmic Trading Quant at Crédit Agricole CIB and worked on the Equity Trading Desk at Societe Generale. Berenstein began their career as a Product Development Engineer at Visible World. Currently, they hold the position of Délégué at Grand Défi, an initiative focused on creating a new model for economic prosperity through democratic participation.

Roman Berenstein obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mathematics and Physics from École Polytechnique, which they attended from 2002 to 2006. In 2005 and 2006, they also pursued a MSc degree in Image and Signal at Télécom Paris. Following this, they pursued a MSc degree in Financial Mathematics at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2007 to 2008.
