Karen Lancon

Karen Lancon, CISM, CISSP, has a diverse background in IT security and governance roles. Karen is currently the Director of IT Security at Legacy Community Health, where they previously served as the Manager of IT Security. Prior to this, Karen was the Business Information Security Manager at Wood from 2018 to 2021. Before that, they held multiple positions at Academy Sports + Outdoors, including IT Security Engineering Manager and IT Governance Analyst. Karen also gained experience as a Student Technician/Research Assistant at Texas A&M University and as an IT Intern - Business Process Analyst at Halliburton. Throughout their career, they have contributed to various projects such as creating and implementing cyber security programs, developing policies and standards, and managing risk within IT environments.

Karen (Baker) Lancon, CISM, CISSP, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Texas A&M University in 2012. Karen then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems, General from Texas A&M University, graduating in 2013. In addition to their academic achievements, Karen obtained certifications including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in 2019, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in January 2019, and Certified Associate in Project Management from the Project Management Institute in March 2014.
