Charles Brewer grew up on a farm in Powdersville, SC, and he attended area schools, including Greenville Technical College. Charles spent his entire professional career at the Poinsett Club in Greenville, SC where he began working at the age of 16 as the pot washer after school. Over the years, he was promoted to various other roles at the Club, including Sous Chef and Dining Room Manager. Since 2005, Charles has served as the Operations Manager and Wine Director, and he is enjoying his 36 years of service at the Poinsett Club.
Charles enjoys all sports, loves to travel, and is a certified wine expert. He has traveled extensively to the Carneros Wine Region, including Sonoma, Napa, Carmel, as well as France, Italy and Germany, to become more knowledgeable about wine. Charles has served on the Warehouse Theater Board since 2012 and the Artisphere Board since 2017. He is also a member of the Club Members Association of America.
