Joe Sullivan is originally from Gaffney, SC. He graduated from The Citadel in 1967 with a BS in Business Administration and was a member of the US Army from 1967-1969. Joe entered the insurance industry in 1969 in Columbia, SC then moved to Greenville, SC in 1972. In 1974, Joe formed Sullivan Company, LLC in Greenville, SC, and was President/CEO until 2013 at which time his company merged with KeenanSuggs Insurance. Joe is currently a Commercial Insurance Advisor with KeenanSuggs in Greenville, SC.
Throughout his career, Joe has been heavily involved in the community, including United Way, as a Palmetto Society Member and in a variety of volunteer positions, Leadership Greenville Class 9, the March of Dimes Walk as Chairman in 1991-1992, and the St. Francis Hospital Foundation as Board Member and Chairman for 9 years. Joe has also served on the Greenville County School Board as a member and Chair/Vice-Chair in 1986-1990, and he was Chairman of the Governor's Committee on Highway Safety under Governor Riley. Sullivan Company was also involved in various volunteer/fundraising activities including Hands on Greenville, Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society, and the Palmetto Peloton Project Ride for Cancer from Greenville to Austin, TX. Sullivan Company also sponsored the Jefferson Awards (WYFF) for many years.
Joe’s hobbies include bicycling, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, traveling, and racing sports cars.
