Gustavo Espinosa

Gustavo Espinosa is an experienced organizer specializing in tenant advocacy and community education. Currently serving as an Organizer at the Legal Aid Justice Center since July 2021, Gustavo focuses on preventing evictions, improving living conditions for low-income tenants in Charlottesville/Albemarle County, and enhancing tenant power. Previously, Gustavo secured over $1.6 million in rent relief for more than 280 households during the pandemic, and contributed to efforts that improved the Virginia Rent Relief Program. Additional experience includes roles as an Outdoor Science Guide at BookTrails Inc., a Researcher at the University of Miami, and leadership positions at William & Mary, including managing a peer scholarship advising team. Gustavo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from William & Mary.
